The Silver Machine is a 5 female powered mytho-futurist-intergalactic-ohm-rock group holding their first public ceremony in celebration of love on February 15th promptly at 9pm at the old Primary Art Supply space at 14 E. Broughton St. in Savannah, Georgia. We [mumbledust] will be opening for this lovely spectacle.

This will be the first unveiling of this new spirit musical group sure to touch the mysteries of your heart. Featuring former members of Hot Pink Interior, When Hipsters Attack, and Pilot Scott Tracy. All taking place in Primary Art Supply filled with years of magic and love. The press release came out today for the local bands playing the Savannah Stopover Festival this year… and guess what – Furious Hooves has two bands playing: Blackrune and mumbledust! Here’s part of the press release as mentioned on Bill Dawer’s Savannah Unplugged. Read more here.

The folks at Savannah Stopover have confirmed local bands that will be performing during the March festival, as well as venues that will be used.

First, as detailed in this morning’s press release, the venues:

*Forsyth Park Bandshell- 3/8 of Montreal Free Concert (All Ages)

*Knights Of Columbus Hall- (All Ages)

*Club One

*Taco Abajo (All Ages)

Ships of The Sea North Garden (All Ages)

The Jepson Center for The Arts (All Ages)

The Jinx

Hang Fire Bar

Congress Street Social Club (All Ages until 10pm)

The Sparetime (Artist Lounge + music downstairs)

Those marked with an asterisk are being used by Stopover for the first time. The Knights of Columbus Hall is on Liberty at Bull, but for the most part the venues are pretty tightly clustered in the northwest quadrant of downtown.

A couple of weeks ago in one of my Man About Town columns, I wrote about Bats in the Belfry, an art exhibit and happening at Desotorow Gallery and neighboring Starland Dairy.

I got there for a little while — there was a great energy among the young crowd.

I had my camera and took a few shots of mumbledust and Christ, Lord.

I’ve rhapsodized about mumbledust before — a duo of Rachel Perisho and Ryan McCardle. See my previous post mumbledust: folk noir from Savannah.
